Belarus 2008Belarus 2008John Durham, together with two friends, June Vasey and Kimberley Bills, is going to Belarus from the 15th until the 28th of June. This is a follow up from the very successful trip in May 2007. Details of the 2007 Trip can be found here (to be added) The travel planning is going very well and we have received our visa's . We will be leaving on Sunday 15th June, to cross the channel by ferry and driving through Holland and Germany into Poland on Monday 16th. After an overnight stop we will continue on through Poland and reach our destination, Надежда (Nadezhda = Hope) Childrens Camp, late on Tuesday17th June.
We will have accommodation at Nadezhda until Wednesday 25th June, when we will begin our journey home. We have a van load of; clothes for children and adults; toys and games; quilts and blankets; gardening equipment and tools; woodworking machinery; and other gifts which we have been collecting and have been very generously donated by our many friends. Some of the projects we will be hope to visit again this year are: Vileyka Babushka Home Elena and her family in Minsk Baby Unit at Vileyka Hospital Vileyka Social Centre Farm Workers children Garden of Hope Project Nadezhda School Camp Babushka’s living on their own in rural area's The Children's Boarding School Vileyka Church/Community Centre And some new projects we hope to add are:
